Tammy Knock was sworn in as the newest member of Harrison Planning Commission on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Knock, who lives in downtown Harrison, said she loves seeing businesses and residents renovating and reviving buildings and homes. Through serving on planning commission, she wants to help Harrison put its best foot forward. Knock previously served on Harrison Recreation Commission, and organizes Harrison’s Thanksgiving Day 5K.

Eighteen members of Shaker Farms Garden Club on Wednesday, Dec. 11, attended Celebrate the Season presented by the Cincinnati Woman’s Club’s Choral Class and pianists Tim and Ann LeVan. After the concert, the members enjoyed a tea followed by their monthly meeting in a private room at the Cincinnati Woman’s Club in Clifton. Members plan to attend the Federated Garden Club’s Tuesday, Jan. 28, meeting and program at the Forest Park Senior Center. Featured speaker Kevin O’Dell will present Finding New Plants: It’s a Journey, It’s an adventure. The club’s monthly meeting will follow the program. Jesse A. Smith, age 91 of Bright, Ind., passed away at his home Friday, Jan.17, 2020. Born March 26, 1928, in Grants Lick, Ky.; the son of William Leon and Carra Hilda (Kidwell) Smith.
