Due to the work and love for students, faculty and staff have shown Miamitown Elementary is one of nine schools in Ohio to be named a National Blue Ribbon recipient.

Who among us has heard the term, or acronym, RFD, and actually know what it represents or its purpose? The term, acronym was somewhat made familiar to us by the popular TV series and reruns of the same, Mayberry RFD, or a current cable TV series about rural American farming, RFDTV. So, what do these three letters stand for?

It’s considered one of the world’s greatest natural wonders as each fall millions of monarch butterflies migrate south from the United States and Canada to overwinter in Mexico and California.

Last year, Sue Beck, former secretary of Harrison Elementary, started having students collect lids to create a Buddy Bench for the playground. After her passing last January, the project was taken over by others at the school to continue the legacy Beck had started.
