Miss Buddy Poppy for the VfW Duwel post 7570 is Kaelyn Jean Roether, 5. Kaelyn is in pre-school at St. John the Baptist. She is the great granddaughter of John Jonas, a Korean veteran, and granddaughter of Pam Kerns. She is the great-great niece of the Duwel brothers of the VFW, which the post is named after.

Miss Buddy Poppy for American Legion Post 199 is 12-year-old Ava Webster, who attends White Oak Middle School. She is the daughter of Staci and Max Webster. Her grandparents are Brenda and Speed Smith and Carolyn Weatherford and Roger Webster.
