Vandals reportedly destroying headstones at Glen Haven Cemetery, Harrison Township, two weeks ago is not quite true.

The Harrison Rotary and The District teamed up to co-host the chili cook-off during the Christmas Parade with Harrison Firefighter, Andy Robben, taking the top prize.

Twenty-four people or businesses submitted chili to the cook-off which was held Saturday, Dec. 2. at the fire station bays in downtown Harrison.

If you want to see the last four Southwest Ohio Conference wrestling trophies, you have to visit only one place.

Harrison has dominated the SWOC since 2014, winning the conference tournament each year by an average of 79 team points. Wildcat wrestlers have claimed 27 of the 56 individual weight categories, including nine in 2017.

Two sixth-graders from Harrison Junior School recently pitted police officers against firefighters to raise $2,000 for a Harrison area family and to bring awareness about ALS to the community.

The marching band from Harrison High School placed 73 out of 100 bands that competed at a grand national competition in Indianapolis Saturday, Nov. 11, after the Wildcats had not performed at the national level in several years.

Music teacher Brian Egan said he is proud of how well his students performed and where they placed.

As you are driving on U.S. 52 heading north, out of town, you will pass some local Harrison businesses, a used car lot or two, a bar and grill, and others, all on the Indiana side, close to the Whitewater River.
