St. John the Baptist Church is sponsoring a yard sale entitled Junk in the Trunk at the St. John the Baptist School parking lot, 509 Harrison Ave. Saturday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Marsha Hoffman retired in July from the post of executive director, Christ’s Loving Hands. Hoffman joined the ministry as executive director on July 1, 2016. She came into the role at the non-profit ministry in Harrison after leaving the LifeSpring Food Pantry where she was pantry leader. Over the past three years, Hoffman has transformed the ministry to better meet the needs of neighbors in the Harrison community. The ministry has grown and is flourishing with blessings from individuals, church partners and business partners. Mark Phillips has joined Christ’s Loving Hands as executive director. Phillips formerly was a volunteer at the ministry. He is a member of LifeSpring Community Christian Church, where he volunteers at the food pantry, member of their worship team, and a video producer. Phillips is the son of Jack and Tina Phillips of Landscape Connections in Harrison.
