La Salle High School recently received a $5,000 grant donation from BP Fueling Communities, thanks to alumnus Ron Wittekind, Class ’65 and chief executive officer of Harrison-based Triumph Energy, a gas distribution company.
The funds will be used to provide scholarships and tuition aid for students who attend the Catholic high school in Green Township.
BP Fueling Communities, as part of the international oil and gas company BP, provides grant donations to organizations nominated by BP business owners to support the communities in which they do business. Wittekind nominated La Salle for the donation.
BP Fueling Communities gives back to local organizations that support health, education, youth, food and housing in order to spread charity and goodwill wherever it is needed most.
“We thank Ron for his thoughtfulness in nominating La Salle for this grant donation from BP Fueling Communities,” said Advancement Director Ken Barlag. “We appreciate support we receive from Ron and other alumni who valued their time at La Salle, and who want the same quality education for our students.”
