Old Friends and Bright Beginnings’ monthly luncheon will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. Lunch, catered by B&P Grubbs, will consist of baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, salad, bread and dessert.

Your reservation and $8 will be appreciated by Sunday, Feb. 3, by contacting Lois Gellert at 812-487-2026 or Thelma Stutz at 812-637-5569.

The Marzan Brass Quintet will return. The group consists of Ron Porges and Steve Joos on trumpets, Paul Russell on baritone, Marilyn Bourquein on French horn, and Bruce Knapp on tuba. They will play a  variety of Civil War songs, old standard tunes, Show Tunes, some Beatles’ songs, and some classical songs.  They will feature many arrangements by Ed Howard. And there will be some jokes.

At the January luncheon, Frank Weishaut, Mason, was thanked for his interesting stories of his dangerous experiences while serving as an American spy during World War II. His presentation was spellbinding.

Thanks to Robert Wubbolding for his assistance. Thanks also to Irene Estes for leading the devotions and to B&P for its usual good food.

Senior Volleyball is going full swing, so join us Thursday, Feb. 14 and  28  at 10 a.m..
