Hope Over Heroin posters have found their way around Harrison, in yards, as banners, adorning Facebook pages and more. The event, set for May 1 and 2, has found support through various groups and individuals in Harrison and beyond. 

The Harrison Ladycats softball season is the only team remaining in the Southwest Ohio Conference without a loss, although they needed a late surge to hold off Ross last Friday and win 11-9. 

The Ladycats are a perfect 6-0 in the SWOC, a game ahead of Edgewood, which lost its first league game of the season last week to Northwest. 

From conception of the Scrub Hub to “doors open” was a little over 3 months. It was an exciting adventure during that first year. 

These fourth and fifth graders from Whitewater Valley Elementary took Earth Day seriously. They spent about an hour after school cleaning garbage from the play ground and grassy areas at the Harrison Community Center on Earth Day. 

We owe our veterans and troops a big thank you for all their service, sacrifice and strength.

We will salute them in a special section to be published Wednesday, May 20, in The Harrison Press and Thursday, May 22, in The Dearborn County Register and The Rising Sun Recorder.

The Harrison High School DECA program offered by the Great Oaks Career Center has grown from a mere 14 members four school years ago to being the largest chapter in Ohio under the enthusiastic tutelage of Great Oaks High School of Business teacher Trevor Ward.
