Harrison Council last week approved some changes to its working committees, through which much of the city's business is accomplished, and named Councilman Randy Shank vice mayor for 2013.

The city operates through 19 committees and associated organizations that deal with the nuts and bolts of civil services from street repairs to garbage pickup. Committee assignments are made by the mayor, then customarily rubber stamped by council.
