There was a new league for Harrison High School athletes to participate in during 2012 as the Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) debuted last August with the start of the 2012-2013 school year. The Fort Ancient Valley Conference was shuttered in May of 2012 after nearly a half century of existence. Harrison had been a member of the FAVC for over a decade. There were no state titles for Harrison teams or individual athletes in 2012, but there were several outstanding performances that earned Harrison honors. Leading the way was Kyle Nowlin who capped a sensational senior year by being named first-team all-state in baseball after also being named first-team all-state in football in the fall of 2011.
