Whitewater Valley Elementary is asking families, friends and other Harrison residents to donate $5 a month through March to help raise funds for new playground equipment.

Families that donate more than $100 will get their names on a plaque, and special recognition plaques will be awarded to those in the $500-Plus Club. These donations are anticipated to raise $13,000 to $16,000 towards the new playground equipment.

All donations are tax deductible, and letters will be generated on letterhead for tax purposes.

The existing playground equipment is dated and in much need of replacement. A playground committee consisting of WVE staff, parents and community members has been formed.

There are fundraising efforts in place as well as grants and donations. Call 367-5577 for more information.
