Editor: As you can imagine, I have mixed emotions about this transition. While I am excited about beginning the new position, it will be very difficult leaving a great branch like Harrison. I have absolutely enjoyed working at the Harrison Branch for over 11 years, from the time the library was still in the planning stages, and will surely miss everything about it: the supportive community, friendly customers, wonderful staff, and incredible facility. However, as regional manager, I have the opportunity to positively impact the entire library system and that is certainly appealing. I will oversee the 17 “West” branches, including Harrison, so there still will be a connection to this library. A new manager for the Harrison Branch will soon be hired. In the meantime, Children’s Librarian Michelle Elliott will be in charge should you require assistance. Please know that my e-mail address will stay the same, so I am still available. It would actually be nice to hear from my Harrison Branch friends after Dec. 9, I’m sure! To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
