As you can imagine, I have mixed emotions about this transition. While I am excited about beginning the new position, it will be very difficult leaving a great branch like Harrison.
I have absolutely enjoyed working at the Harrison Branch for over 11 years, from the time the library was still in the planning stages, and will surely miss everything about it: the supportive community, friendly customers, wonderful staff, and incredible facility.
However, as regional manager, I have the opportunity to positively impact the entire library system and that is certainly appealing.
I will oversee the 17 “West” branches, including Harrison, so there still will be a connection to this library.
A new manager for the Harrison Branch will soon be hired. In the meantime, Children’s Librarian Michelle Elliott will be in charge should you require assistance.
Please know that my e-mail address will stay the same, so I am still available. It would actually be nice to hear from my Harrison Branch friends after Dec. 9, I’m sure!
