Harrison’s young wrestling team had to do without one of their leaders in senior Thomas Fay, out until January with a broken hand, but the Cats managed to finish fifth at the Ryle Invitational on Saturday.

The Cats looked to another senior leader for inspiration at Ryle and heavyweight Truman Gutapfel demonstrated that skill, winning all five of his matches to win his weight class. Gutapfel is 10-0 after two weeks of the season and his four pins on Saturday give him nine for the season.

In the heavyweight finals, Gutapfel established a 10-0 lead before finishing off his opponent with a pin.
