Harrison City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday, Nov. 6, that mirrors a state law, that took effect this past summer, regarding writing, sending and receiving text messages while driving, but why?

The city’s ordinance:
? keeps money from fines in Harrison instead of cash going to the county;
? assigns cases to local mayor’s court instead of municipal court in downtown Cincinnati;
? allows police officers to remain in town, and spare the city from paying extra cash for time spent on cases adjudicated in Cincy.
