| Forecast: school district budget looks sound |

Southwest Local School District is not anticipated to have a budget deficit until 2017, according to the most recent Five Year Forecast. Released twice yearly and composed of three years of actual data and five years of forecasted data, the most recent forecast was released in October. The forecast delineates how much money the school district should have at the end of each year if all projections hold true. Currently, projections show 2016 funds will be running low and the 2017 funds will be in the red, said Tom Golinar, treasurer for Southwest Local School District.
