Mayor Joel McGuire has declared a proclamation celebrating the 90th anniversary of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish residing in its present building.

The proclamation states St. John’s has made significant contributions to the community through the dedication of the parish, priests and Sisters of Charity.

St. John the Baptist Parish Day was declared by the City of Harrison to be on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.  The parish will celebrate the accomplishment on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the 4 p.m. Mass with Auxiliary Bishop Joseph R. Binzer presiding.

The proclamation was crafted by committee including Mayor McGuire, Father Jeffrey Kemper, Police Chief Chuck Lindsey and parishioner Teri Becker.
